Brunssum, The Netherlands – Thursday 06 July, Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) hosted a visit by Lieutenant General Mikko Heiskanen, Deputy Chief of Staff for Logistics and Armament, the Finnish Defence Forces.
Finland's accession to NATO reinforces the strength of our alliance and underscores our commitment to defending our shared values and security. With their strategic location and formidable armed forces, Finland brings an extremely high value to the NATO family.
The aim of the visit was to gain first-hand information of JFCBS’ mission structure and tasks. Amongst others, topics discussed included: deterrence management, advanced operational planning and NATO command and control structures and processes. Of particular importance were discussions on synchronisation of operational plans from logistical perspective and a better understanding of current Alliance military vigilance activities in Northern Europe.
During the office call, General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, Commander Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS), one more time highlighted Finland's membership as a significant milestone for NATO Alliance.

The visit at JFCB was also the great opportunity to meet with Finnish personnel at JFBCS in order to thank them for their contribution to the headquarters and their overall efforts.
Summarising his visit, General Heiskanen highlighted the need to further synchronization and coordination of joint deterrence efforts in order to protect and defend NATO Alliance core values.
