Brunssum, The Netherlands – General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, Commander of Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFC Brunssum), visited the Training Command and Application School of the Italian Army, 9th March, 2023.
NATO must be the symbol of a renewed transatlantic bond.
Upon arrival, General Miglietta observed the Italian military custom of honouring the Training Command and Application School Flag, decorated with the Silver Medal for Military Valour, with a salute.
After an initial office call with General Mauro D'Ubaldi, institute commander, General Miglietta addressed the school staff and the attending officers from the Cavalry Corps. He encouraged the young officers to engage in every aspect of their professional career with enthusiasm and pride.
Afterwards, General Miglietta was given a brief tour of a special room in the school dedicated to Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour, first President of the Council of the Kingdom of Italy, inaugurated on 7th October 2022 by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella.
The visit continued in the Unified Army Circle, where, at the end of a meeting with local civil and military authorities, General Miglietta gave a brief lecture entitled "A year of war in Europe. NATO after Vilnius,” where he underlined that “NATO must be the symbol of a renewed transatlantic bond, completing a cultural process that brings together elements of a common civilization, even before countries, in a shared system of thought and lifestyle which is the result of centuries of evolution and which makes values such as peace, equality and freedom its symbol.”
