Distinguished Visitors Day for Exercise Steadfast Cobalt at Brunssum Camp

Brunssum, The Netherlands – Headquarters Joint Force Command Brunssum (HQ JFCBS) hosted a distinguished visitors day (DVD) on Thursday 4th May at the Brunssum Camp. The day was organised in close cooperation with the NATO Communications and Information Systems Group (NCISG), based in Mons, Belgium.
STEADFAST COBALT 2023 improved our readiness and increased our speed by ensuring that all contributing units are ready and prepared to deploy CIS in support of NRF Missions

STEADFAST COBALT 2023 was NATO’s largest CIS exercise of the year, which was conducted by the NCISG across a number of NATO sites between March 20 and May 5, 2023, as part of the preparations for next year’s NATO Response Force (NRF).

The exercise validated the communications & informations systems (CIS) connectivity and interoperability among participating NRF units through data exchanges and sustained communication among joint and component headquarters and combat units of the NRF worldwide.

Modern armed forces rely heavily on computer technologies to conduct their operations. The aim of the exercise was to improve readiness and responsiveness of participating units by ensuring they are ready and prepared to deploy CIS in support of NRF Missions.

‘STEADFAST COBALT 2023 improved our readiness and increased our speed by ensuring that all contributing units are ready and prepared to deploy CIS in support of NRF Missions as well as on land, in the air and at sea, whose presence and activities assure Alliance members and deter potential adversaries,’ said Commander NCISG Major General Frank Schlösser.
