Brunssum, The Netherlands – On Monday 27 February, the Commander of the Dutch Defence Support Command (DOSCO), Lieutenant General Mario Verbeek, visited Headquarters Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (HQ JFCBS) with a small delegation from his Command.
DOSCO’s role is to support the Dutch Armed Forces by providing personnel services, training, housing, infrastructure, catering, security, surveillance, facility services, health care services, and logistics and transport services.
JFC Brunssum Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Lieutenant General Krzysztof Król, welcomed the guests to the HQ, where they received briefings on the tasks and responsibilities of JFCBS and the Host Nation Support provided by the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The visitors were also given a tour of the camp, in which they discovered its history as a former mining site in the Dutch province of Limburg.
During the briefings, the visitors were told about the work of the headquarters, which helps to ensure continued peace in Northern Europe and along NATO's eastern flank. They also had the opportunity to discuss support infrastructure, maintenance of real estate and long-terms plans for future support from JFCBS’ Host Nation.
