The event then opened with a warm welcome speech by Major General Stefan Fix, Deputy Chief of Staff Support of the JFCBS. He highlighted the importance of supporting and recognizing the sacrifices made by soldiers in the line of duty.
“We have a responsibility to the brave men and women who have been injured during their service,” commented Major General Fix. “Their stories of courage and resilience deserve to be heard, and events like the Invictus Games provide a platform for their triumphs."
Edwin de Wolf took the stage to share his personal journey as a soldier, his time with the Stoottroepen, and the life-altering incident he experienced during his mission in Bosnia.
