Enhancing NATO Ties: Commander of German Logistics Command visits Joint Force Command Brunssum

Brunssum, The Netherlands – Commander of the German Logistics Command, Major General Gerald Funke, paid a visit to the Headquarters of Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS).

Warmly received by Lieutenant General Krzysztof Król, Chief of Staff at JFCBS, this reception highlighted the shared resolve to enhance cooperation for the Alliance's collective security.

The visit's discussions encompassed crucial subjects, including Germany's substantial contributions to various NATO’s strategic initiatives.

Major General Funke engaged in productive discussions with Major General Linus Fix Deputy Chief of Staff Support and senior staff members of the Headquarters. The conversations aimed to provide an overview of JFC Brunssum's tasks, responsibilities, and operational commitments such as, in-depth analysis of the evolving security scenario, particularly within NATO's Eastern Flank.

The visit underscored the significance of deepening collaboration between JFC Brunssum and the German Logistics Command. This partnership seeks to bolster credible deterrence and reinforce NATO's defense readiness across all operational domains, with special attention to the Baltic Sea Region.

Furthermore, the visit highlighted the importance of bilateral collaboration. The discussions explored opportunities for strengthening NATO's operational readiness and ensuring efficient resource deployment. The Chief of Staff emphasized Germany's role in recent multinational exercises and ongoing contributions to maintaining the Alliance's maritime security.
