Brunssum, The Netherlands – On Friday 29th September, Headquarters Joint Force Command Brunssum (HQ JFCBS) hosted the visit of Mrs Annemijn van den Broek, the Head of Security and Defence Policy Division of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and her delegation consisting out of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Defense staff.
NATO has never been so united to defend its territory.
After a welcome to the headquarters, Mrs Van den Broek attended an office call with Deputy Commander JFC Brunssum, Lieutenant General Luis Lanchares, followed by a briefing with senior staff from HQ JFCBS and a visit to the Joint All Domain Operations Centre. After the official part of her visit, she received a lunch in the company of members of the Dutch delegation working across Brunssum military base.
Mrs van den Broek stated that, ‘NATO has never been so united to defend its territory’. One of the operational HQs who have to care of that, is HQ JFCBS. ‘This visit gives me the absolute confidence that the men and women of HQ JFCBS are fully ready for this task’, according to Mrs Van den Broek.
“It was a great honour to host Mrs Annemijn van den Broek in JFC Brunssum today. The visit was a crucial opportunity, recognising her important role in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and all that NATO is focused upon at present, to share open dialogue on key issues in order to enhance the cooperation and communication between our respective organisations. The ongoing support from the Netherlands is vital to our headquarters and its operational pursuits; it was therefore extremely reassuring that we shared a mutual appreciation of how important our alliance is“.

HQ JFCBS is one of NATO’s most important military headquarters and will be in the lead of the NATO Response Force 2024 including the Very High Readiness Force.
