BRUNSSUM, the Netherlands – NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Operations, Ms. Burcu San, and over 50 members of the NATO HQ Operations Policy Committee (OPC) visited JFC Brunssum on 30th November 2023.

It is not the military power that is the most attractive aspect for the Nations joining the Alliance. It is the solidarity and a commonly shared understanding of members core values

After being welcomed to the headquarters by HQ JFCBS Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Perrin, Ms. San met with the commander HQ JFCBS, General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta.

The OPC, a military-political body with NATO HQ, visited to better understand HQ JFCBS’ operational capabilities and tasks, and to discuss deterrence assessments, key enablers for the committee’s aims of enhancing collaboration between the political and military arms of NATO, and the development and implementation of operations-related policy.

During his introductory address General Miglietta said, “It is not the military power that is the most attractive aspect for the Nations joining the Alliance. It is the solidarity and a commonly shared understanding of members core values”
