BRUNSSUM, the Netherlands – Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) held the Allied Command Operations (ACO) Deputy Commanders' (DCOMs’) Cabal on 27 and 28 November 2023.
As ever, the DCOM Cabal provides an ideal opportunity for the Deputy Commander Community to assemble as a collective and consider, in a frank and open manner, the way in which our respective commands can most effectively integrate and operate
The Cabal, hosted by Lieutenant General Luis Lanchares, JFCBS's DCOM, was attended by the Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe, deputies from across Allied Command Operations, Deputy Commanding General from U.S. European Command, the Deputy Commanders of Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, Joint Support and Enabling Command, and Allied Special Operations Forces Command.
During his opening remarks, Lieutenant General Luis Lanchares cordially welcomed distinguished guests:
“It is a pleasure to welcome DSACEUR and ACO Deputies to the DCOM Cabal at JFCBS on behalf of General Miglietta. I am particularly grateful to Lt Gen Basham and Rear Admiral Morley for joining the core attendees of the Cabal. Their presence provides additional richness to discussions, forces us to look through another lens, and as a result helps us to tease out some of the challenges at hand.”The DCOMs’ Cabal provided the perfect platform for Deputy Commanders from multiple NATO and US command to discuss how to optimise interoperability between headquarters, and to ensure that a comprehensive and coherent approach exists to help deter and defend any threat to NATO territory.
“As ever, the DCOM Cabal provides an ideal opportunity for the Deputy Commander Community to assemble as a collective and consider, in a frank and open manner, the way in which our respective commands can most effectively integrate and operate” – stated Lieutenant General Lanchares.
This important forum fostered candid dialogue and collaboration, enabling Deputy Commanders to collectively address the evolving challenges facing the Alliance and the way in which to mitigate them most effectively.
