Brunssum, The Netherlands – On Tuesday, 04 June, AFNORTH International School (AIS) celebrated the remarkable achievements of its students by a festive award ceremony. This is a yearly event for the AIS, and brings the school and the wider JFC Brunssum communities together.
We wish Krzysztof the best of luck in his future endeavours as he begins his next chapter at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy for the 2024 autumn semester.

The school’s most prestigious award is as old as NATO’s presence in Brunssum and was initiated in 1967 by General Johann Adolf Graf von Kielmansegg, German Army, first Commander of Headquarters Allied Forces Central Europe (AFCENT), the predecessor organisation of JFCBS, after the relocation of the HQ to Brunssum. The ‘Graf-von-Kielmansegg-Award’ is presented for distinguished contributions to the international goals of AIS. It shall encourage students not only to embrace international opportunities, but also to learn to respect and deepen understanding of differences, thus becoming better prepared for life in a vastly changing world.

This year, the award was presented by General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, Commander Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum, to Krzysztof Bryla, for his multitude of extracurricular activities and academic achievement. “Krzysztof has earned respect and admiration from not only his peers, but the staff as well during his stay at AFNORTH International School. He has excelled in all he has set himself out to do”, General Miglietta said in his address. “We wish Krzysztof the best of luck in his future endeavours as he begins his next chapter at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy for the 2024 autumn semester.”
The ceremony was complemented with music performed by students from AIS.
