The NATO Brunssum community held its “Family Day” on September 6, at the Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) Brunssum Headquarters. The event welcomed not only NATO personnel and their families but also outside guests, including representatives from the municipality of Brunssum.

Our Family Day provides a unique opportunity for the NATO community in Brunssum, particularly newcomers, to get to know each other better and to strengthen the bonds among Allies and staff members.

"Our Family Day provides a unique opportunity for the NATO community in Brunssum, particularly newcomers, to get to know each other better and to strengthen the bonds among Allies and staff members" said General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, JFC Brunssum Commander. The General emphasized that the event allowed participants to share and explore the best aspects of NATO and its partner nations.

Numerous attractions were organized to encourage participants to create new bonds, and foster a sense of unity within the JFC Brunssum community. Attendees, including staff members, their families, and guests, had the opportunity to sample cuisines from various countries, explore offerings from several JFC Brunssum community clubs, and even join some of them. They also had the chance to see a riot vehicle from the Dutch Military Police – KMAR. Physical activities added to the event's appeal, with the UK delegation hosting an International Tug of War, the French delegation inviting participants to join in Pétanque, and the Canadian delegation organizing a Hockey Shootout.
