Building the Future of the U.S.-NATO Partnership: Gen Miglietta Makes Multiple Stops in the Pentagon

Brunssum, The Netherlands – Joint Force Command (JFC) Brunssum Commander, General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, visited several subject matter experts in the Pentagon as part of his 5-day tour of the United States’ National Capital Region (NCR), 16th April, 2024.

During the visit, Gen. Miglietta met with Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (DASD) Euro-NATO, Ms. Lisa Sawyer. He also met with DASD Russia, Ukraine and Eurasia, Ms. Laura Cooper. Following an afternoon roundtable with multiple senior leaders in Strategy, Plans and Policy, he finished the day in a meeting with Admiral Christopher Grady, Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The partnership between NATO and the United States is more important today than ever before,” said General Miglietta. “The U.S. has a very long history of strong commitment to European security, which has been a key part of reassuring our Allies while deterring potential adversaries. I believe continued visits like this one are critical to ensure the enduring success of the U.S.-NATO Partnership.

As part of General Miglietta’s visit to the United States, he has visited Headquarters Allied Command Transformation, and HQ JFC Norfolk. He is also scheduled to visit the U.S. Army War College.
