Celebrating NATO 75: JCFBS Hosts Open Air Theatre Concert

Brunssum, The Netherlands – Headquarters Joint Force Command Brunssum (HQ JFCBS) celebrated the 75th anniversary of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) by hosting a free concert in the City of Brunssum’s Open-Air Theatre, Friday, 31st May, 2024. The German 'Luftwaffenmusikkorps Münster' provided the free entertainment for the local community.. 

NATO’s 75th Anniversary is a great opportunity to celebrate these special relationships between the people of Brunssum and men and women working at JFCBS.

HQ JFCBS Commander General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta hosted Brunssum City Mayor Wilma van der Rijt, and hundreds of soldiers and civilian visitors also enjoyed the music. The ‘Luftwaffenmusikkorps Münster’ provided an entertaining program made up of music ranging from military marches to popular songs.

 “NATO’s 75th Anniversary is a great opportunity to celebrate these special relationships between the people of Brunssum and men and women working at JFCBS. I look forward to a future where we can honour this unique Alliance to our mutual benefit” said Mayor Wilma van der Rijt. 

The speeches of both the mayor and the general emphasised the importance of maintaining the relationship between NATO headquarters and the municipality of Brunssum.

During the concert, NOS (the Dutch BBC) recorded the concert as part of their documentary, '75 Years of NATO.’ The documentary will be broadcast on Sunday evening, July 7, on channel NPO 2 at 8:30 PM.
