Commander Diana Mensink (HQ JFCBS Coordination Officer J2) received her third Royal decoration on Friday, April 26 at the Dutch Ministry of Defence in The Hague. The Minister of Defence Mrs Kasja Ollongren pinned the ribbon on her on behalf of the king. As of today, she is a Knight in the Order of Orange Nassau with the Swords.  

The minister praised her for her longstanding commitment to veterans. In addition to her regular work as a naval officer, Mensink fulfils numerous volunteering positions. She is a zero-line helper at the Dutch Veterans Institute, where she has been committed to a wheelchair dance association for 16 years and she is also chairman of an association for ex- and actively serving female soldiers. “You are frequently praised for your qualities, compassion and integrity. In and out of uniform,” says Ollongren.
