Sweden's strategic insights and steadfast partnership are invaluable as we navigate the complexities of modern security challenges together
After an initial sit-down visit with JFC Brunssum Commander, General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, Vice Admiral Ewa Skoog Haslum was treated to an in-depth historical overview of JFC Brunssum, followed by a series of briefings that focused on the current and future tasks and responsibilities of the headquarters. The briefings also offered a detailed look into the NATO operational landscape, as well as the command’s objectives.
A significant portion of the discussions focused on future cooperation between the Swedish Armed Forces and NATO, with an emphasis on enhancing interoperability, conducting joint exercises, and addressing shared security challenges in Europe and beyond.

During her visit, Vice Admiral Ewa Skoog Haslum also took the opportunity to meet with Swedish military personnel currently working at JFC Brunssum, where she engaged in discussions about their roles and experiences.
The visit was particularly significant as Vice Admiral Ewa Skoog Haslum was recently appointed as CJO of the Swedish Armed Forces, on 15th of November, 2024. In September 2024, General Miglietta visited Sweden, where he had the opportunity to meet with Vice Admiral Ewa Skoog Haslum, who was at that time Commander in Chief of the Swedish Navy.
