Higher Military Scientific and Technical Education senior officers Visit JFC Brunssum

Brunssum, The Netherlands – On the 5th June, Headquarters Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (HQ JFCBS) hosted a visit of 11 senior French officers currently attending the Higher Military Scientific and Technical Education (EMSST), training to be experts in their fields to respond to technological and geostrategic changes.

The students were welcomed to HQ JFCBS by the Assistant Chief of Staff (ACOS J3) Brigadier General Bruno HELLUY.

Following the welcoming remarks, the students were familiarised with the role, responsibilities, processes, and current challenges of an operational-level NATO military headquarters. Senior officers received in-depth lectures on functional areas contributing to the Operational Planning Process, including the transition of the NATO Response Force (NRF) to the Allied Response Force (ARF), before being given the opportunity to discuss military planning issues in more detail.

Such visits always help in building a cohesive and well-informed alliance, ensuring that military leaders from different nations are well-prepared to work together in joint operations.

The college is situated within the historic École Militaire complex in Paris. The EMSST plays a crucial role in preparing military leaders capable of handling complex and dynamic operational environments. Its graduates, influence not only military operations, but also national defense policies and international military relations. The EMSST remains a cornerstone of France's military education system, contributing significantly to the strength and effectiveness of its armed forces.
