His Excellency Juraj Podhorsky, Slovakian Ambassador to The Netherlands, visited HQ Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS), Monday 13^th May 2024. He was welcomed to the headquarters by General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, Commander JFCBS. 

2024 marks Slovakia’s 20^th Anniversary as part of NATO. These years have seen a fundamental shift in Euro-Atlantic security, meaning our unity as an Alliance is more important than ever.

In welcoming the Ambassador, General Miglietta thanked him for Slovakia’s contributions to NATO. “My gratitude goes to Slovakia for their contributions to the strength of our Alliance. Your country is key to NATOs Air Shielding Mission, hosts one of the six Multinational Battlegroups under my command and has significant forces in Multinational Battlegroup Latvia.”

After the general’s welcome, Ambassador Podhorsky was treated to a brief history of the Headquarters, before a programme of briefs covering Slovakia’s contribution to NATO, and how this operational level command integrates Slovakian personnel and units into its command structure.

“2024 marks Slovakia’s 20^th Anniversary as part of NATO. These years have seen a fundamental shift in Euro-Atlantic security, meaning our unity as an Alliance is more important than ever,” said Ambassador Podhorsky. “I would like to thank General Miglietta and all NATO personnel for their hard work and dedication.”

On completion of the briefs, His Excellency Podhorsky met with Slovakian personnel working within JFCBS.
