BRUNSSUM, The Netherlands – Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) headed a Maritime-Land Integration Symposium in Estonia, 2-3 Dec 2024, bringing together a diverse array of experts to discuss joint operations, capabilities, and strategic planning in NATO's Multi-Domain Operations.
The symposium highlighted NATO's dedication to maintaining operational readiness through collaborative efforts and continued innovation in defence strategies
The symposium, held at NATO Force Integration Unit (NFIU) Estonia, welcomed subject matter experts and planners from both maritime and land domains, and focused on sharing understanding of joint capabilities, processes, and limitations in order to enhance NATO's operational readiness.
“This Maritime-Land Integration Symposium serves as an important event to further enhance the planning and execution of NATO operations in all domains at the operational to tactical levels,” said Major General Randolph J. Staudenraus, JFCBS Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations. “We continue to improve our ability to find, fix and track everything in, on and around the Baltic Sea. Our readiness will deter adversaries as we defend every inch of the NATO Alliance.”

As NATO continues to adapt to an evolving security environment, such gatherings play a crucial role in fostering cooperation and ensuring collective security.
In attendance were representatives from various NATO Allies and partners, including British, Norwegian, Dutch, and French warships participating as part of Standing NATO Maritime Group 1. The event also saw participation from the Estonian, Finnish, German, and Royal Netherlands navies; Estonian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Finnish, and Swedish defence forces; Estonian Defence League; the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces; Polish Maritime Component Command; U.S. Task Force in Estonia; and several other Allied and partner organisations.
