Brunssum, The Netherlands – On June 9, 2024, Lieutenant General Gunter Schneider, Director General for Strategy and Operations at the German Ministry of Defence, visited Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS). Hosted by Commander JFCBS, General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, the visit aimed to inform Lieutenant General Schneider about the latest actions and developments at JFCBS, one of the key NATO headquarters responsible for developing and executing the new Regional Plans, a critical component of NATO's updated strategy of deterrence and defence.

General Miglietta highlighted the significance of the visit, stating, "Lieutenant General Schneider’s insights and experience are essential as we continue to refine and implement our strategic initiatives. Brunssum oversees the Joint Operations Area Center, covering the mid to northeastern part of Europe, with a primary focus on the Baltic Sea region and Poland. This region is vital for NATO's defence posture, emphasizing the importance of JFCBS's work.
During his visit, Lieutenant General Schneider engaged with JFCBS leadership and high-ranking staff members to gain a deep understanding of ongoing projects and future plans.
