The Ambassador for International Organisations in The Netherlands, and Ambassadors of NATO Member Nations Accredited to The Kingdom of The Netherlands Visit HQ JFC Brunssum

Brunssum, The Netherlands – On Tuesday, 15 October 2024, Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) hosted a visit of the Ambassador for International Organisations in The Netherlands, H.E. Paul van den IJssel, and Ambassadors of NATO member nations accredited to The Kingdom of the Netherlands. After the new Secretary General of NATO, Mark Rutte from The Netherlands, has taken office, and in the light of the upcoming NATO Summit in the Dutch capital The Hague in June 2025, Joint Force Command Brunssum took the opportunity to invite the Ambassadors to deepen their understanding of the current tasks and responsibilities of HQ JFC Brunssum.

We know that we have full support of the political representatives of our nations, and this is even more important nowadays in times of such a challenging security environment

The Commander of JFC Brunssum, General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, warmly welcomed the Ambassadors to the Headquarters. It was the first time that a visit of this kind took place at JFC Brunssum.

The guests received a series of briefings on the history, the structure and the duties of JFC Brunssum. They were also introduced to the Headquarters’ Joint All Domain Operations Centre (JADOC), which 24 hours a day, 365 days a year collects, processes and forwards relevant information relating to the security situation in JFC Brunssum’s Operation Area and beyond. The JADOC provides continuous situational awareness to the leadership of JFC Brunssum and to higher NATO Headquarters, thus facilitating timely operational and strategic level military decisions.

In his address to the Ambassadors, General Miglietta pointed out: “It is a special honour for JFC Brunssum to host so many Ambassadors of our great NATO family here in our Headquarters. With your presence, you demonstrate your interest in our duties and clearly underline your support for our work. We know that we have full support of the political representatives of our nations, and this is even more important nowadays in times of such a challenging security environment.”
