Brunssum, The Netherlands – One hundred students from the French military college, École de guerre, visited HQ Joint Force Command Brunssum (HQ JFCBS), 21st March, 2024, as part of their advanced-level staff course.
You represent the future of the French Military, not only leaders at a national level, but also international level
The students were welcomed to HQ JFCBS by the Chief of Staff (COS) Lieutenant General Perrin.
“You represent the future of the French Military, not only leaders at a national level, but also international level” said Lt Gen Perrin “The ability of leaders, from all 32 NATO nations, to work together towards the common interests of security and prosperity, throughout the Alliance, is key to our unity and cohesion”.
Following the welcoming remarks, the students received a full day of briefings on a wide variety of subjects designed to enhance their understanding of the political and military challenges faced by NATO, and how it is rapidly adapting to them.
These briefings were not just focused on HQ JFCBS, but the wider role it plays in deterrence, planning, and on-going operations, included the transition of the NATO Response Force (NRF) to the Allied Response Force (ARF). This transition is designed to enhance NATO’s ability to rapidly deploy significant number of troops, anywhere in the Alliance, in response to a crisis.
The college, located in Paris, provides advanced level-training for the future leaders of the French armed forces. The aim of this training is to equip the students with the skills they need to take on the most demanding positions within the French armed forces around the world.
