Visit of the US Military Representative to NATO to JFC Brunssum

Brunssum, The Netherlands – US Military Representative to the NATO Military Committee, Vice Admiral Shoshana S. Chatfield, US Navy, visited Headquarters Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS), on 24th May 2024.

At these critical times the world is facing right now, it is more important than ever that the Alliance works together to deter aggression and maintain security across NATO territory

Hosted by Commander JFC Brunssum, General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, the distinguished was updated on the Headquarters’ mission and tasks, as it relates to the various security threats and challenges the Alliance currently faces.

The focus of the discussion was the situation at NATO’s Eastern Flank and the important role of the US contribution to NATO’s deterrence and defence in Europe: “At these critical times the world is facing right now, it is more important than ever that the Alliance works together to deter aggression and maintain security across NATO territory,” said General Miglietta.

VAdm Chatfield was also introduced to the history of JFC Brunssum and Camp Hendrik, the venue the HQ and its predecessor organisation is stationed since 1967.

The US contingent is one of the largest within HQ JFC Brunssum. VAdm Chatfield also took the opportunity to meet with the US delegation, headed by the Senior National Representative, Major General Randolph Staudenraus, US Air Force, Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations of HQ JFC Brunssum.
