Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum Commanders' Conference: Planning for The Future in Brunssum’s Area of Responsibility

BRUNSSUM, The Netherlands – On 15th and 16th April, Headquarters Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) hosted the conference of the Commanders of adjacent, subordinate, and national Commands in JFC Brunssum’s Area of Responsibility.

In order to coordinate our efforts to respond to the fast evolving security landscape in Europe, and to exchange first-hand information on the defence posture of the NATO Commands in our Area of Responsibility

Upon the invitation of Commander JFC Brunssum, General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, this high-level gathering provided a forum for the leadership of NATO commands within JFCBS's operational area to discuss current events and plan the future defence posture of the Alliance in our region. Among others, it served to share vital information, and discuss the way ahead of improving NATO's readiness to engage swiftly and effectively in any potential conflict scenario.

The commanders engaged in a series of meetings and discussions covering all aspects of avoiding a potential future conflict, and the means available to NATO to prevent it based on a credible deterrence posture.

“In order to coordinate our efforts to respond to the fast evolving security landscape in Europe, and to exchange first-hand information on the defence posture of the NATO Commands in our Area of Responsibility, it is vital to regularly meet in this format and use the time for intensive discussions”, said General Miglietta. “This conference focussed on the refinements of our plans for the coming years, and I am grateful to my fellow commanders for their valuable contributions. Solidarity and cooperation are our greatest assets. Together, we are well prepared to face the challenges posed by any aggressor to our freedom and security.”
