Brunssum, the Netherlands – General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, Commander of Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS), visited the municipality of Brunssum as part of his farewell tour, where he was warmly received by Mayor Wilma van der Rijt-van der Kruis and members of the municipal council, 27 May 2025.
The visit marked a symbolic moment, honouring the close cooperation between the headquarters and its host city.

During a dedicated one-hour meeting, the Mayor and council took the opportunity to express their appreciation for General Miglietta’s leadership and longstanding commitment to fostering strong civil-military relations.
The engagement also highlighted the enduring value NATO brings to the region – from its contribution to local security and international stability, to its presence as a steadfast community partner. The Commander, in turn, conveyed his gratitude for the unwavering support provided by the municipality throughout his tenure.

The city of Brunssum has been a host for JFCBS since 1967.
