BRUNSSUM, The Netherlands – General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, Commander of Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS), along with select staff members, met with ambassadors and senior representatives at the invitation of the Italian Ambassador in Copenhagen, Denmark, on the 22nd of January 2025.
I am proud to lead a JFC that is rising to the complex challenges we face on its way to becoming an all-domain, war-fighting headquarters.
The primary objective of the meeting was to provide insights into the role and operations of NATO’s Operational Commands, as well as to foster mutual relationships and emphasise the critical importance of JFCBS both in the present and in the future.
At the outset, General Miglietta extended a warm welcome to the distinguished guests, including ambassadors and senior representatives from France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
“I am proud to lead a JFC that is rising to the complex challenges we face on its way to becoming an all-domain, war-fighting headquarters. But we do not – we cannot – do it alone,” said General Miglietta. “NATO nations provide the personnel to my headquarters, the military assets we use, and the political will that determines what we do. This is the partnership I am here to strengthen today.”
Following the General’s opening remarks, Colonel Claudio Romano presented an overview of JFC Brunssum’s history, mission, and tasks, detailing its organisational structure and highlighting the ways in which the Quint nations support and contribute to the collective efforts within the JFC Brunssum Area of Operations.
Subsequently, Major General Mark Pullan, JFCBS Deputy Chief of Staff, Plans, delivered a comprehensive briefing on JFCBS plans and activities, as well as its contributions to NATO exercises. His presentation underscored the command’s critical role in bolstering NATO’s operational readiness and cohesion.
