Strengthening Civil-Military Ties: General Miglietta Visits Multinational CIMIC Group

BRUNSSUM, The Netherlands – General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, Commander of NATO Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) Brunssum, conducted an official visit to the Multinational CIMIC Group (MNCG) at Caserma Mario Fiore in Motta di Livenza, Italy. The visit underscored the vital role of civil-military cooperation in NATO operations.

Your expertise in civil-military cooperation is a decisive factor in NATO’s ability to build stability and security in international operations. Your dedication strengthens both Italy’s and NATO’s operational effectiveness

Upon arrival, General Miglietta was welcomed by Colonel Piero Furlan, Commander of the MNCG, alongside representatives from the unit’s contributing nations: Greece, Hungary, Romania, Portugal, and Slovenia. The multinational nature of the regiment reflects the importance of interoperability and cooperation within NATO’s civil-military framework.

The visit provided a comprehensive overview of the unit’s mission, which focuses on fostering dialogue between military forces and civilian populations in crisis zones. Through direct engagement with local communities, the MNCG plays a crucial role in stabilising conflict-affected regions and ensuring mission success.

A key highlight of the visit was an in-depth briefing on the Assessment and Analysis Section, which utilises advanced monitoring and artificial intelligence tools to support operational decision-making. The integration of technology with field expertise enhances NATO’s ability to adapt to complex security environments.

Addressing the CIMIC personnel, General Miglietta praised their commitment and emphasised the strategic importance of their work: "Your expertise in civil-military cooperation is a decisive factor in NATO’s ability to build stability and security in international operations. Your dedication strengthens both Italy’s and NATO’s operational effectiveness."

Colonel Furlan expressed gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed the unit’s dedication to excellence in civil-military cooperation. The visit concluded with a tribute to the regiment’s War Flag and the signing of the honour book, symbolising the strong bond between NATO JFC Brunssum and the Multinational CIMIC Group.
