Brunssum, the Netherlands – As part of his farewell tour, on 28 May General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, Commander of Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS), visited the Limburg King's Commissioner, Mr Emile Roemer, head of the provincial government and highest representative of the province.

The relationship between the southernmost province of The Netherlands and NATO Command JFC Brunssum has always been very close, many staff members of the Headquarters and their families live in its borders. Apart from the Municipality of Brunssum itself in particular the provincial capital Maastricht is home to a lot of them.
“We at Headquarters JFC Brunssum are very grateful for the support we continuously receive from our host Province of Limburg and the Municipality of Brunssum. Limburg is a wonderful place to live, and the people of JFC Brunssum feel a special connection to the communities here. I personally thoroughly enjoyed the three years I had the honour to serve as Commander of JFC Brunssum and had the pleasure to live in your wonderful province”, General Miglietta said to Governor Roemer.

The Governor in turn thanked General Miglietta for his service in the last three years and expressed his appreciation for his leadership and longstanding commitment to fostering strong civil-military relations. HQ JFCBS is a very important employer for Brunssum and the immediate area.
The meeting emphasised the strong and hearty relationship between JFC Brunssum’s staff and their families and the province they call home. As General Miglietta prepares to finish his tour at the helm of JFC Brunssum, this visit again highlighted the enduring value NATO brings to the region like contribution to local security and international stability, and its role as a steadfast community partner.
