Two Senior French Officers Visit Headquarters JFC Brunssum

BRUNSSUM, The Netherlands – On 2nd April, Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS) received the visit of two high ranking French military representatives.

As a founding member of our Alliance, France has always played a pivotal role in NATO’s defence posture in Europe

Lieutenant General Bertrand Toujouse, Commander French Land Forces (COM FT), and the National Military Representative of France to the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR), Major General Ludovic Pinon de Quincy, were welcomed by the Commander JFCBS, General Guglielmo Luigi Miglietta, to the Headquarters.

For Lt Gen Toujouse, it was his second visit to HQ JFCBS, while Maj Gen Pinon de Quincy came for the first time to Brunssum after assuming his position last autumn. JFC Brunssum’s Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Jean-Pierre Perrin, himself an officer of the French Army, arranged for a programme to brief both guests on the present security posture in JFC Brunssum’s area of responsibility, and the progress the HQ has achieved in the development of the Regional Plans and transforming of JFCBS to a warfighting Headquarters. Another focus was the training, exercises and activities involving French forces, and the ongoing French contribution to JFCBS.

“As a founding member of our Alliance, France has always played a pivotal role in NATO’s defence posture in Europe,” said General Miglietta. “We at JFC Brunssum are very grateful for the French contribution. Unity of effort in our Alliance is vital to maintain security and deter aggression against NATO territory.”

Maj Gen Pinon de Quincy additionally met with the French delegation for a national programme, and engaged in a panel discussion with representatives of the French military community in Brunssum.
